A recent report in the London Times says that 100,000 jobs will be lost to overseas locations from British banks and insurance companies - this follows a recent decision by Lloyds TSB to transfer 750 full-time jobs to India .
Another report in the UK press says that the National Health Service plans to move hundreds of jobs to India...in fact the NHS plans to outsource 60% of all accountancy and admin functions with much of the work going to India.
And this is just the latest in a long line of white-collar jobs exported to India. Already over 5% of back office jobs in insurance, banking, mortgage and credit card processing are done there.
Over the next seven years British white-collar jobs will be further decimated because an incredible 40,000 insurance and 60,000 banking jobs are likely to go overseas - an amazing 25% of all back office jobs in these industries. And that's only in the banking and finance sectors - what of the remaining office jobs in the UK ?
